A full mattress — also called a double — measures 54 inches wide by 75 inches long. It’s 16 inches wider than a twin and the same length, which gives a single sleeper meaningful additional room without requiring the floor space of a queen. Full is the bridge size that works when twin feels cramped and queen feels like too much furniture for the room.
